Club Information

Membership

Membership is extended to any boy or girl who is eligible to compete as a youth athlete ages 5 - 18, physically able to do so, and is willing to abide by the rules, regulations, policies, and Bylaws of the club and USATF. 

Training Program

The objective of CPTC is to train athletes of all levels in an environment wherein athletes can safely practice and learn how to become physically and mentally stronger. In keeping with our philosophy of providing a well-rounded and quality competitive program for athletes of all ages and abilities, CPTC offer professional technique instruction and training. The program is divided into smaller practice groups based on skill level and commitment. This allows practices to be geared toward the individual needs of each athlete.

Training Sessions and Locations

Track & Field Season
(February 1, 2010 - July 29, 2010)


Practices will be held Mondays through Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Cross Country Season
(August 16, 2010 through December 2010)


Practice will held Mondays through Fridays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Academic Recognition*

In addition to instilling life-long values of teamwork and dedication, CPTC encourages a superior work ethic in the classroom.

CPTC encourages and rewards its participants for their outstanding academic performance by awarding savings bonds and medals to athletes who maintain a GPA of 3.0 and above.  Savings Bonds are earned as follows:

  • Gold Scholar-Athletes (GPA of 3.75 & above) earn a $100.00 savings bond & schloar-athlete medal
  • Silver Scholar-Athletes (GPA of 3.25 - 3.74) earn a $75.00 savings bond & scholar-athlete medal
  • Bronze Scholar-Athletes (GPA of 3.0-3.24) earn a $50.00 savings bond & scholar-athlete medal

The standards CPTC have set give our athletes a sense of responsibility and an appreciation for academics and athletics that will help them develop later on in life.  *Please note this award is only available to athletes who train and compete during the regular cross country and track & field seasons.

Competition
 
CPTC is a proud member of Southern California Association of USATF, USA Track & Field is the national governing body for track & field, long distance running, cross country, race walking, and ultra/mountain/trail running. The Southern California Association is recognized by USA Track & Field as the local organization to administer the sport of Athletics in the counties of Inyo, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. Within this geographic area, the Southern California Association acts as a service organization in creating, conducting and overseeing programs to provide opportunities for athletes of all ages to participate in the five disciplines of our sport.

Sub-Bantam Boys/Girls (SBB/SBG) - born in 2002 or later
Bantam Boys/Girls (BB/BG) - born in 2000 - 2001
Midget Boys/Girls (MB/MG) - born in 1998 - 1999
Youth Boys/Girls (YB/YG) - born in 1996 - 1997
Intermediate Boys/Girls (IB/IG) - born in 1994 or 1995
Young Men/Women (YM/YW) - born in 1992 or 1993

Program and Resources Development
 

CPTC, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) California corporation, is supported through membership dues, fundraising, donations, sponsorships, and volunteer efforts. Monies received and raised go towards equipment, facilities use, awards, end of season award banquets, and so forth.
